The Houston Chapter is excited to invite you 'Space City' for our 'Out of This World' Fall 2024 South Central Section Meeting. Home of NASA and the astronaut training program, our location in League City offers us the opportunity to easily visit the NASA facility.
We will begin the weekend on Friday evening with a boat cruise on lovely Clear Lake. We will be celebrating long time 99 Delle Hightower and her husband Gene, both of whom passed away last year, while also celebrating our Chapter's 65th birthday!
After the Saturday business meeting we look forward to shuttling you to NASA Johnson Space Center for the afternoon where you will be able to have lunch (self-purchase) and choose which tram tours you would like to go on, or simply wander the exhibits in the main building. Should you not wish to visit NASA Johnson Space Center, our hospitality suite will be open, or you may wish to visit one of the many other attractions in the League City/Clear Lake area including the League City Historic District, Lone Star Flight Museum, Moody Gardens, San Jacinto Monument, or the Kemah Boardwalk. Whatever you decide to do, be sure to make it back to the hotel for the Saturday night happy hour and banquet where our guest speaker will be a NASA professional (they're keeping it a secret from us at the moment as to who that will be!).
