Dr. Sheila Chamberlain
Dr. Sheila Chamberlain became the United States Army's First African American Woman Combat Intelligence Aviator/Pilot and has been a Commercial Instrument Rated Pilot since 1985. She served during the Persian Gulf War, the Grenada and Panama invasions, and four hardship tours in South Korea. Chamberlain is credited with streamlining all Combat Aviation Intelligence in the entire Southeast Asia Region. She was also a Special Intell/Ops Reconnaissance Chief in Latin America and Threat Aviation Officer. Chamberlain is credited with her work on the AH-64 Apache Longbow, Comanche aircraft, V-22 (before Marines/Navy was given the project), Worldwide Close Combat Heavy Mission Area Wargamer and Material Acquisition. In addition she rewrote the US Army's Air Traffic Control Force Modernization Plan.

USS Lexington Museum
Known as “The Lex,” this retired World War II-era aircraft carrier is docked a short distance from the Texas State Aquarium. The Lexington features a number of exhibits, as well as a museum, flight simulator and stunning views of Corpus Christi Bay. Oct. 15 - 11:30 am - 3:00 pm

South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center
The 180-acre South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center showcases nine uniquely designed floral exhibits and gardens, including the acclaimed Orchid House and Plumeria Garden--plus the Bromeliad Conservatory and Butterfly House.

Art Museum Of South Texas
For over forty years, the stark white Art Museum of South Texas has been a landmark on Corpus Christi Bay. Approximately 15 distinct exhibitions are presented annually and showcase the work of entry level, mid-career, and recognized artists from around the world. (FREE for our SCS attendees!)
